Norway into Sweden

Sweden left the Denmark, Norway, Sweden union in 1523. Denmark then ruled Norway until handing it over to Sweden in 1814. Norway gained its independence in 1905. It is very confusing! In 1786 the Denmark/Norway military garrison left Bohus Fortress and it fell into disrepair. The residents of Kungalv were allowed to take stones from the fort for their homes.
